Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The Black Horse's home-cooked meals are the star attraction, particularly the steak and ale pie and lasagne al forno, which patrons rave about. The generous portions satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. Families cheer for the children's menu, offering fantastic deals that allow little ones to enjoy delicious food. Another highlight is the variety of vegan options, ensuring that no one feels left out. The relaxed atmosphere combined with fun events like karaoke or quiz night turns every visit into an experience, keeping both laughter and good cheer rolling.

Most Disliked

Some guests mention busy peak times, especially on Saturdays, when finding a table can be a challenge. This can lead to longer waits for food and service, which can detract from the overall experience. A few reviews note that during these peak times, noise levels can rise, making conversation difficult. A minor inconvenience is the lack of dedicated parking; while free street parking is available, it can fill up quickly on busy nights. A few patrons have suggested a wider variety of desserts for those with a sweet tooth.

Only called in here due to some traffic around a usual pub we'd go to. Was really pleasantly surprised. Great lunch menu and the quality of the food was top notch. Definitely recommended 👍

Went for some food and the staff were lovely and helpful. Good choice of vegan options, and the chef came and spoke to me regarding some out of stock items as they're in the middle of swapping to a new menu. Hopefully, the new menu is as good as the current one. Would absolutely come back again.
